An off-balance black structure leans across a field of grass green — a soccer pitch that isn't quite there anymore. This piece is the most direct one in the series about what the accident actually took: a leg, and the career I was building on it.

The green is still there. It's just empty now. That tension — the field without the player — is the whole painting.
