The Kinetic Scar

Acrylic & graphite on canvas, 36 × 48 in

Stark black diagonals cut across a weathered gray field — a structure built from movement, not stillness. This piece takes its name from a Zen proverb about the mind finding a new path around a damaged one, and that's exactly how it was made: painted using kinetic, sweeping motion to bypass the neural pathways my injury left behind.

The scar isn't hidden here. It's the composition. The diagonal is the new route my body found when the old one was gone.
